I spent six years to be come what I want
But when I got out of school, I am told I can not.
They say that I can go to another school to be retrained
But I didn't graduate college to go back to school again.

I wanted to be a programmer
I've written programs since I was ten.
The though of being retrained feels like some kind of sham.
I've never had a job, but I worked part time at the school library.
But I must be studering or mumbling, because I don't think I've stated my goals clearly.

I've never had a job.
"Go work in sales"
I've trained to be a programmer
"Get retrained to work in sales"

I've asserted myself with clarity
But they don't understand.
The job I wanted has been outsourced
But not to someplace in Japan.

Places I've never heard of.
Places that are pretty far.
Even the salesman's job
Is not commutable by car.

Banglore, Mumbai,
Beijing, Shanghai
Exotic cities where wages are low
And human rights even lower

To the companies that outsource to these exotic locales
Who transport our personal data to strangers in Palai
You may be saving money by giving our jobs away
But the workers who you'd rather hire have to come here anyway

But there is one thing that you can not export
Is the education that we got
And the fact that somewhere back in America
There is an unemployed hacker waiting patiently
And the chaotic patrotism that you forgot.

When our information is lost and stolen
Because you trusted shady foreigners
Over American's with American data
Don't come calling for us to fix this mess
Fix it yourself, since you though we weren't the best

To handle problems like this in an orderly fashion
Because you set deadlines that we couldn't match them
Without harm and without pain
Without a carpal tunnel sprain

Have your cheap labor fish you out of the stew you created
Assuming they learn that they've been cheated.

As their society develops into one just like ours
They'll demain pay and benfits, day care, and company cars.
But your too cheap to abide to reasonable demands
And soon they will be outsourced just like in America and Japan.

So as I wait for your call
And as your greed panics from the stock prices' fall
I'll be waiting patiently, singing the Unemployment Blues
Because when you outsource, it is everybody that will lose.
The blues of an unemployed man who wanted to be a programmer, who has never really had a full time job, trying to find his place in the world that sent his job overseas to a place he can not go to.

Why should people retrain to be something else when they were educated to follow their dreams? I believe in capitalism, but I am apaulled by its abuse.

Now countries like America are bailing out companies for their irresposiblitiy so they can continue to be irresponsible(i.e. AIG).

Now countries like Canada are allowing companies from America to allow outsourced workers to live in their country to circumvent American foreign labor laws (i.e. Microsoft, GM)

Now people who work for the American government steal money from the government and put it in banks overseas while they fight to cover up their motives (i.e. Department of Homeland Security, Senator Santorum trying to shut down the National Weather Service in favor of Accuweather, Senator Ted Stevens trying to shut out the internet to avoid sunshine laws such as the private contract with his home.)

I think we have all had enough. I want to see people go to jail. Not Martha Stewart ClubFed. I mean Federal "Pound Me In The Ass" Prison. And if they don't, I want to see vigilantism.

If we don't have laws that protect labor, economy, or justice for everyone, then why bother allowing an exclusive few to be above the laws they create.

"All Animals are created equal...except some are more equal than others." --George Orwell, Animal Farm
